Irish Crochet

Irish Crochet In-Person

Monday, May 20

6pm

Lincoln Community Room

Registration is Required

Please join us to learn some of the basics of Irish Crochet at the Lincoln Library! This amazing art was once only made inside the walls of convents in Ireland, but, during the potato famine, the sisters taught the women around them how to make it.  Thanks to Irish Crochet, many families were able to survive and thrive in the midst of a terrible situation. In this class, we will make a beautiful little motif of  an Irish rose, forget-me-nots and leaves that would work well as a brooch, pendant or embellishment for a wide variety of projects.  We will discuss the history of Irish Crochet, as well as modern ways to use it.

This class is aimed at those that have crochet experience. Free. All materials are provided.
