Community Science: After Dark In-Person

Want to become a community scientist? Learn how you can get outside and contribute to real science happening in your area!

  • It’s firefly season in Pennsylvania. Learn how to identify and catalog fireflies by their flash patterns, then report your findings to Mass Audubon’s Firefly Watch project.
  • Become an amateur astronomer and help track light pollution in your area. Can you see the Hercules constellation? Globe at Night wants to know - and we’ll show you how to spot it.

Ages 6 and up. No registration required - just drop in! This event will be hosted in the Blasco Library's Community Classroom, located on the ground floor. You can enter the classroom through the door just past the reference desk. Library programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Erie County Public Library.
