Explore Erie’s maritime heritage through local markers around the Erie Maritime Museum and Blasco branch of the Erie County Public Library. Join the Maritime Museum as we highlight the women who stitched the “Don’t Give up the Ship” flag, the Free Black sailors who served in O.H. Perry’s Lake Erie squadron, Paul Allman Siple – Erie’s Antarctic Explorer, and the U.S. Brig Niagara – Oliver Hazard Perry’s relief flagship of during the Battle of Lake Erie in September of 1813.
