Faux & Dip-Pen Calligraphy In-Person
When was the last time you tried writing in cursive? How about the last time you wrote (or illustrated) with a dip-pen and ink well? Come join Dr. Sheila Lorenzo de la Peña (Assistant Professor, PennWest University) and other community members in this mini-studio. We will briefly explore straight and oblique dip-pen and ink for modern calligraphy application. We will also explore the more accessible style of faux calligraphy with pens and markers. Participants are encouraged to bring their sketchbooks and journals to work on, as well as any calligraphy tools, although there will be worksheets and various tools available to practice with. No experience is needed!
