Beautiful Oops: Working in Layers

Beautiful Oops: Working in Layers In-Person

In this mini-studio, led by Dr. Sheila Lorenzo de la Peña (Assistant Professor, PennWest University), we will be tackling simple techniques for working with messy layers. We will play with and try to welcome oops-moments as creative co-conspirators. Practicing going-with-the-flow and trusting the process, all of which are easier said than done. These beautiful oopsies could be applied to visual journals, sketchbooks, ATCs (artist trading cards), postcards, and creative works in general. We will be exploring and making contained messes in order to break out of the pressures of perfectionism.

Participants are encouraged to bring their sketchbooks, junk-journals, and their sort-of less-than favorite media.
