War and the Humanities: A Reading Group In-Person
This group meets to discuss books about war from humanities sources: fiction, poetry, memoir, and more. For December, we will be reading At Night All Blood is Black by David Diop. A macabre tale of a Senegalese soldier in WWI, At Night reads like a mythological horror story while exposing the reader to the little-known history of African soldiers on the western front during the first World War. Diop uses lyrical prose and unforgettable imagery to explore themes of revenge, madness, duty, and loyalty. After registering, stop in at the Edinboro Branch Library to pick up your copy of the book.
This is an adult reading group.
Registration has closed. (This event has to be booked as part of a series)
No Geolocation available for event.
