Master Gardeners Square Foot gardening. In-Person
Saturday, April 27
2pm
Iroquois Community Room
Registration is encouraged, but not required.
Planting a garden does not have to be in a row. It is not a useful method in a small garden with diverse crops. Enter – Square Foot Gardening method. Join Master Gardeners to learn more about this inovative process.
Your garden space can be divided into a grid, with individual squares measuring 1’ by 1’. Those mini grids will be planted with a prescribed number of plants depending on the crop. This method is estimated to cost 50% less, use 20% less space, and 10% less water. Plants are spaced closer together than in a row garden and there are less weeds to pull. This gardening method invites imaginative planting designs that will transform into a colorful quilt. Come and learn the necessary elements needed for a successful garden spot and how to plant a square foot garden.
