Preschool Storytime In-Person
Explore stories at the library! Join us for an interactive storytime featuring books, music, movement, puppetry, and more. Have fun while helping your child build early reading skills. Activities are planned with a preschooler's development in mind, but younger and older siblings are always welcome.
Preschool Storytime is best for ages 3-5. A parent or other adult caregiver must be present for the duration of the program. No fee or registration required - join us whenever your family's schedule allows!
Tuesday and Wednesday sessions will be different. You are welcome to join us for either or both.

ECPL Storytime Guidelines:
Know what to expect.
Talk with your child about storytime before you attend. Explain that there will be other children to meet, books to enjoy, and songs to sing. Discuss the importance of listening and following directions.
Choose the best program for your child’s age.
Storytime sessions help children build early literacy skills. Your child will benefit most from the program designed for his or her age group. It will also be more enjoyable!
Please be on time.
Young children are easily distracted by latecomers, so please plan to arrive at least five minutes early. This will give you and your child plenty of time to get comfortable before storytime starts.
Join in!
Please listen, sing, dance, craft, and actively enjoy storytime with your child.
Unplug and tune in.
Model attentive behavior for your child by turning off your cell phone and saving adult conversations until after storytime.
Don’t be afraid to step outside.
If your child becomes restless or uncooperative, please take a break for a few minutes. You are always welcome to return when your child is ready!
Take the experience home.
Borrow books and take them home with you to keep the storytime fun going. Reinforce what you’ve learned by singing, talking, sharing books, and playing with your child every day.
COVID Guidelines: Please stay home from storytime if you or anyone in your family is feeling sick or waiting for COVID-19 test results. Masks are recommended based on your personal preference and informed by your level of risk. Masks will be provided upon request.
