Cave Painting

Cave Painting In-Person

Children ages 5-18 and parents are invited to a program on cave painting. Led by local artist John Alexander, participants will first learn about prehistoric cave painting, focusing on the Lascaux caves. Then, we will create our own cave paintings! This dynamic program will teach participants how to make paintbrushes from feathers and animal hair using flint and round hammer stones, how to make paint medium from crushed powders, and other prehistoric artistic techniques.

Registration is required for each child for this free program. Accompanying adult does not need to register.
