The Moon and Water and You In-Person
In anticipation of the upcoming eclipse, come and join NASA Scientist Dr. Timothy Livengood for an all-ages talk about the relationship between the Moon, the Earth, and the water on both! The Moon and Earth are tied together by gravity and rock – the best theory we have for why we have is our Moon is that it was splashed off Earth by a gigantic collision, long before there was any life on Earth. Something else that ties us together is water. We are here (on Earth) because of water, and we are here (in Erie) because of water and the eclipse, but since 2009 we have known that there is water all over the Moon, in very tiny quantities. What we don’t know for certain is how it got there.
