Family History Fair at the Hagen History Center In-Person
Do you wish you knew more about your family roots in Erie County? Where can you find information about the communities where your ancestors lived? Come to the Family History Fair at the Hagen History Center ‘s Watson-Curtze Mansion on June 9! Co-hosted by the Hagen History Center and the Erie Society for Genealogical Research, the free Fair will feature expert help for beginners and experienced family historians alike! There will be kids’ activities on the front lawn and Door Prizes. Talk with representatives of more than a dozen historical societies from throughout Erie County, as well as Crawford County, Warren County, Ashtabula County in Ohio and Chautauqua County in New York; lineage societies including the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Sons of the American Revolution and the Mayflower Society; Ethnic history experts knowledgeable about African American, Eastern European, German, Irish, and Italian heritage. Find out how to get started with DNA. Learn how to safely clean your family gravestones. Look up Civil War and other military records. Learn where to search burial records, church records, naturalization and Erie Vital Records. Visit the Story of Us exhibit and the Hagen Center’s other immigration exhibits. Kids’ activities on the front lawn! Door prizes!
