War and the Humanities: A Reading Group In-Person
This group meets to discuss materials about war from humanities sources: fiction, poetry, memoir, and more. For May, we will be watching the film Restrepo. This documentary, directed by war journalist Sebastian Junger, attempts to capture the complexity, confusion, and attitudes of soldiers fighting in the Korengal Valley of Afghanistan in 2007. We will begin the film on May 7th, and finish the film with discussion on May 21st. This program is free and open to the public.
