Korean Watercolor Painting Demonstration
Esther Hong has taught Asian watercolor at the Erie Art Museum since 2005. She will demonstrate the basics of this ancient classical technique. While Western painting emphasizes experimentation and individuality, the traditional Asian watercolor artist focuses on quieting their mind, honoring nature, and perfecting their technique. People have found her technique mesmerizing and a true window into Korean culture.
This project is made possible in part by federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries.
