Frottage Collage

Frottage Collage In-Person

Come and learn the art of frottage: creating rubbings on paper of textured surfaces!

Children 5-17 and their parents are invited to join local artist John Alexander as we learn about frottage: the art of creating rubbings. We will collect natural objects of varying textures outside, and then learn techniques and creating rubbings of our natural materials. Then, we will practice making collages using our newly created rubbings. Registration is required for each child for this free program. Accompanying adult does not need to register.

Wondering what goes into making a rubbing? You can learn more about this artistic technique by checking out some of the various books on the topic in ECPL’s collection.
