War and the Humanities: A Reading Group In-Person
Join a dynamic and varied reading group that uses both famous and lesser-known works of philosophy, fiction, poetry, and other humanities sources to explore the topic of war.
This group meets to discuss materials about war from humanities sources: fiction, poetry, memoir, and more. For August we will be reading Uzodinma Iweala’s Beasts of No Nation. This tragic and brutal novel fictionalizes a war in an unnamed African country in order to tell the story of Agu, a child soldier forced to fight. This program is free and open to the public.
Registration is required for this free program.
If you are interested in something different, the Edinboro Branch Library has other book clubs: check out the Civic Reading Group or First Tuesday Book Club.
