Build Your Own Cardboard Boat In-Person
Join Brent Hanely and Jacob Chemsak from the Bayfront Maritime Center to design and build your own working cardboard boat! Learn about some boat design options plus construction techniques for cutting, adhering, and sealing the cardboard. When you're done, consider entering your creation in this year's cardboard regatta on September 14th! Brent will talk about what the cardboard regatta is and what guidelines you must follow if you want to enter your boat in the race.
A limited amount of cardboard will be available for class. Participants are encouraged to save, gather, and bring additional cardboard for their creation.
This program will take place in the Blasco Library's Idea Lab. At the start of class, you can enter the lab through the glass doors near the library's front desk.
Free and open to the public. Registration is recommended but not required. All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
