Spring Skywarn

Spring Skywarn In-Person

Erie JET-24/FOX 66 Meteorologist Tom Atkins brings the spring SKYWARN training session to Blasco Library.  It is a comprehensive presentation developed by the National Weather Service covering regional spring and summer storms--how they develop, form, and threaten lives and property. SKYWARN will examine lightning, hail, tornados, other forms of damaging winds, and flooding.  Attendees can train to be a local storm spotter and help the National Weather Service create more accurate warnings for severe weather when it hits our area.

This program is free and open to the public thanks to our sponsors and will last approximately 90 minutes with time for questions after the class

Sponsored by WJETTV, the Friends of Erie County Library, Erie County Department of Public Safety, and a grant from the American Library Association
