Teen Reading Lounge In-Person
Teen Reading Lounge is all about exploring your world and expressing yourself through stories, activities, and discussions with other teens. You help choose the books, lead the talks, and create fun projects. Ready to dive in and make your voice heard?
Teen Reading Lounge will take place on Monday nights from 6 to 8 p.m., starting February 24 through April 14. Each participant will receive a book box featuring Hungry Hearts: 13 Tales of Food & Love, edited by Elise Chapman and Caroline Tung Richmond, along with fun surprises inspired by the stories—such as reusable chopsticks, a soup spoon, a dumpling squishy, a bookmark, stickers, treats, and more!
TRL is a great way to meet other teens from around the county, talk about important issues, and learn about different perspectives. Each week we will discuss the book, have a snack, and engage in a creative activity related to the book.
Registration is required, and space is limited. We encourage participants to attend all eight sessions to build a sense of community and make sure you don't miss out on any of the fun!
Free. Ages 13-17 in grades 8-12. Registration is required at https://events.erielibrary.org/
This project is made possible by Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries with additional support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, individual donors and other funders.
