HistERIE: The Hidden Heroes of Erie In-Person

The Hidden Heroes of Erie will explore lesser known stories of Erie veterans spanning from the Spanish-American War to the Cold War Era. Included in this presentation will be the stories of Charles Vernon Gridley, a hero at the Battle of Manila Bay, Bobbi Hovis, a flight nurse who served in both Korea and Vietnam, Kenneth Ahrens, a survivor of the infamous Malmedy Massacre, along with the stories of many more service men and women from the Erie area.

No registration required; seating is first come, first served.

About the Presenter: Roman Straub holds a BA in History from Gannon University and has worked with the Hagen History Center for the past year. The Hagen History Center is a museum dedicated to sharing the history of Erie over the past 250 years with a campus in both Erie and in Girard.
