The Erie Poetry Community Workshop

The Erie Poetry Community Workshop In-Person

The Anthology of Erie Poets presents The Erie Poetry Community Workshop

The Erie Community Poetry Workshop is designed to help members of the Erie community find their poetic voices and generate poetry that represents their diverse experiences and environments. We will look at different poetic forms, modes, and occasions while working together to write new poems and revise older ones. Led by Dr. Clayton Bradshaw-Mittal and featuring guest poetry instructors, the workshop is open to any member of the Erie community who would like to write poetry in a setting that encourages collaboration and growth.

For more information, please email Dr. Clayton Bradshaw-Mittal at bradshaw013@gannon.edu or visit eriepoetryanthology.com.

Sept 6th meeting is followed by Poets Against Racism and Hate

PARH USA Justice Poetry Workshop

Participants learn about social justice poetry and apply a method for transforming their reactions to social issues into their own social justice poems. The workshop, which is for those 18 and older, includes descriptions and definitions of social justice poetry and a brief look at its deep-rooted history, an exploration through example of the two primary perspectives from which poets enter social justice writing, effects of social justice poems, and a set of activities that can be used to generate a well-thought-out social justice poem.
