HistERIE: Maple History & Magic at Hurry Hill Maple Farm In-Person
Head to Hurry Hill Maple Farm and Museum for an afternoon of free and delicious regional history!
- Watch a Maple Sugar Crumb demonstration and enjoy tastings of locally produced maple products beginning at 1pm.
- Take a wagon ride through the woods to spy the farm's sugarbush and sugarhouse.
- Explore exhibits dedicated to the history of maple syrup making in northwest PA. Hold the Newbery Medal awarded to Virginia Sorensen's classic children's book, "Miracles on Maple Hill." The book is inspired by the author's experiences while living in the region, including the process of sugaring.
- Ring the America250 Bell to celebrate the nation's semiquincentennial birthday.
- Every participant will get a free "Miracles on Maple Hill" bookmark to take home.
- Attendees can enter to win an hourly drawing for (1) copy of Miracles on Maple Hill.
No registration required. Tastings and wagon rides are first come, first served while supplies last or until 3pm. Museum hours are 12pm to 4pm.

About the Program Host: The Hurry Hill Maple Farm Association has developed wonderful experiences for visitors–children, families, sugar makers or anyone curious about nature’s pure product. The maple sugaring process, natural and cultural history, lore and legend are on display with entertaining events, educational activities and exhibits.
