HistERIE: Washington's Journey to Fort LeBoeuf, Foundation for Leadership with Fort LeBoeuf Historical Society In-Person
Washington’s diplomatic journey to Fort LeBoeuf was one full of danger and intrigue.
He was sent on this mission at the age of 23 with British leadership doubting he would return. Not only did he return with important details of the French occupation, he also survived several near-death experiences. It is within these experiences that he forged a strong foundation that he would rely upon later in his life as he became leader of the Continental Army and eventually our first President. Come learn of this fateful mission to Ft LeBoeuf and how he utilized experiences to lead the Continental Army while building a continental community. This discussion will also discover how Washington was concerned about defending the Frontier he discovered early in his life while maintaining a strong front against the British in the East as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of Washington's career.
Registration is recommended to plan for seating. Stay after the event for a HistERIE social mixer featuring sodas common to the 18th century and reenactors exhibiting colonial period dress and artifacts.
Event takes place at: Jefferson Educational Society, 3207 State Street, Erie, PA.
