Blasco Bookworms

Blasco Bookworms In-Person

Join us for an interactive book club featuring Karen Foxlee’s Ophelia and the Marvelous Boy, a fantasy adventure inspired by “The Snow Queen.” Ophelia Jane Worthington-Whittard doesn’t believe in anything that can’t be proven by science. After the loss of her mother, her dad takes a job running a mysterious museum in a city where it never stops snowing. If that wasn’t strange enough, she discovers a boy locked away in a forgotten room. He says he’s been imprisoned by the Snow Queen, and he needs Ophelia’s help.

Participants will receive a free copy of Ophelia and the Marvelous Boy to read between meetings. At our meetings, we’ll discuss the book and enjoy fun, hands-on activities related to the plot. Get ready to make your own ice cream, design a museum exhibit, create snowy salt-resist paintings, play an escape room game, and more!

Registration is required and space is limited. To register, please call 814-451-6936 or visit the children’s desk at the Blasco Library.
