Early Reader Book Club: Spooky Stories In-Person
Have you heard the story of The Green Ribbon? What about The Night it Rained? These are some of the classic spooky stories collected in Alvin Schwartz’s book In a Dark, Dark Room and Other Scary Stories. This book is perfect for anyone who likes to be scared, but not too scared.
If you are just too old for storytime and slightly too young for our other school-age book clubs, this one is for you!
At Early Reader Book Club, we read fun leveled books appropriate for ages 5-8 or grades K through 2. Join us for our spooky first meeting and see what book clubs are all about!
Participants will receive a free copy of In a Dark, Dark Room and Other Scary Stories to read before meeting. Our meeting will consist of a guided book discussion, interactive storytelling, and fun activities. We’ll pick our favorite scary story, do some dramatic readings, eat spooky snacks, and make our own LED flashlights to ward off the things that go bump in the night.
