Blasco Bookworms: Crenshaw In-Person
**Select Saturdays: 1/11 and 1/25 | 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Ages 8-11, Registration Required | Storytime Room
Join us for an interactive book club featuring Katherine Applegate’s Crenshaw, a story about hard times and the friends—both real and imaginary—who help us through them. Jackson and his family are going through a rough patch. Money is tight, and if his parents can’t cover the rent, the whole family might have to live in their minivan. Again. But Jackson has another, furrier problem. His imaginary friend, a giant cat named Crenshaw, has chosen this moment to come back into his life. Could he help Jackson and his family?
Participants will receive a free copy of Crenshaw to read between meetings. At our meetings, we’ll discuss the book and enjoy hands-on activities that bring the story to life. Get ready to draw giant imaginary friends and make them come to life on a green screen. We’ll also have a dinosaur dig, play animal trivia, and make art inspired by Aretha Franklin and B.B. King.
**Registration is required and space is limited. To register, please call (814) 451-6936.
Free and open to the public.
