CANCELLED -Teen Chalk Walk - Postponed until July 10th In-Person

This event is postponed due to the forecast of thunderstorms.  We hope will be able to join us on July 10th.  Please  register if you are able to attend the new date so we can plan for plenty of snacks and prizes!

Join us for the 2nd Annual Teen Chalk Art Walk. Stay for all or part of the day. Compete for prizes or just create and have fun. This is an outdoor event with social distancing and masks as required. We will have snacks, water and prizes throughout the day. Materials provided. Free for teens age 13-18 years of age. All skill levels are welcome.

The art competition is hosted by the Teen Reading Lounge (TRL) of the Erie County Public Library. This year's theme is "Change the World." This is a unique experience for teens to express how to challenge inequities and encourage others to explore new ways of thinking. Art can tell a powerful story and help start conversations that promote respect for differences and appreciation of diversity. We are looking for the most diverse group we can find to represent teens in Erie County and give a voice to the power of youth.

Participants will receive everything needed to create their chalk art design. This is an outdoor event. There will be water, snacks, music and surprises throughout the day. You may work alone or in groups but you must maintain social distance guidelines throughout the program.

Pre-registration is required to be eligible for prizes. There will also be a limited number of open spaces available the day of the contest. Free and open to age 13-18 years of age. Materials provided and spaces are limited. Rain date: July 10th. For more information email teenspace@eriecountypa.gov.
