Flying (And Writing) With Dad: The Hidden Gifts of His WWII Stories In-Person
The Erie County Public Library is excited to welcome Yvonne caputo, a former teacher, psychotherapist, corporate trainer, and the self-published author of Flying With Dad: A Daughter. A Father. And the Hidden Gifts in His Stories from WWII. Within the pages of her historical memoir, Yvonne lovingly documents story after story recounted by her father, a WWII veteran and B-24 navigator. Each energetic tale sheds a light on the lives of the unrecognized GIs who fought and won the war.
Join us virtually on Wednesday, October 13 at 6:00 PM to hear Yvonne read an excerpt from her book, recount a few of the stories within, and reflect on her relationship with her father after his return from the war. Michael Caputo spent much of his post-war life in Meadville, and Yvonne taught English in Erie schools, so locals will be treated to a piece of history from their own community. Be sure to stay till the end for a chance to ask questions about Yvonne's book, her father's life, her writing process, and her experiences with self-publishing.
This event is free and open to the public, and is made possible with the support of the Friends of the Erie County Public Library.
