War and the Humanities: A Reading Group In-Person
This group meets twice a month to discuss books about war from humanities sources: fiction, poetry, memoir, and more. Books are provided, as well as refreshments. Any adult is welcome to join, and veterans are strongly encouraged. For May, we will be reading Redeployment by Phil Klay. Written by a former U.S. Marine, this debut short-story collection about the recent war in Iraq won numerous awards, including the National Book Award and the American Library Association’s “W.Y. Boyd Literary Award for Excellence in Military Fiction.” After registering, stop in at the Edinboro Branch to pick up your copy.
