Land Book Club with Free Maritime Museum Tour In-Person
LAND! One of the biggest reasons for war and something most people strive to own. Why it is so important? In Joy Harjo's An American Sunrise she talks about the Europeans' need for land and how they used forced migrations of native peoples to gain more. Join our last NEA Big Book Club talk before Joy Harjo's reading on the 20th. A free tour of the Maritime Museum will be included because many battles for land started with battles on water. Space is limited to 15 people. Attendees get to keep the book provided.
If you signed up for the previous Land by Simon Winchester book club that had to be canceled and would like to join this one please email library-reference@eriecountypa.gov and in the subject heading put "Land RE: Rachel S" and send you full name, email, and phone number.
Please note: Because the book is written for adults and uses concepts and words younger children might not understand, this program is appropriate for those 15 and up. Only one entry into the museum per attendee.
This is part of the NEA Big Read Erie. The Big Read is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
