Erie Makes: Feed Bag Totes

Erie Makes: Feed Bag Totes In-Person

Demonstration

Create some maker magic by transforming trash into treasure. With several local grocery and department stores discontinuing the use of plastic bags, now is a great time to learn to make your own sturdy, washable, sustainable shopping bags. This demo will show you how to use a few simple materials - a discarded feed/seed bag, a thrifted pillowcase, an old belt, and some basic sewing notions - to create a reusable shopping bag that will stand up to your heaviest shopping haul.

Registration required.

This project requires basic sewing skills. Each registrant will leave the demo with the supplies needed to create one feed bag tote at home.  Don't have a sewing machine of your own? Call the idea lab for more information about the sewing machines available for use at the Blasco Library.
