Introduction to Spooncarving

Introduction to Spooncarving In-Person

Get introduced to the craft of spoon carving by local woodworker Ken Bownes. Ken will talk about the spooncarving process and demonstrate the different stages of making a spoon. Ken will then give out prepped pieces of wood for some people to begin carving with. Due to the sharpness of the tools, this class is for adults only, ages 18 and up.

This class will give you a taste of the process of spooncarving which we will explore more in a 6-week course starting Monday, November 14th. Check out and register for that course here.

If the class is full but you are interested in the library hosting this program again, please register for the waitlist. We will use the waitlist to gauge interest in running this program again. If registration is closed entirely, please email us at idealab@eriecountypa.gov to let us know you're interested. Thank you!

You can check out Ken's work on his website or reach out to him and attend a meeting of the Erie Spoon Club by checking events on their Facebook page.
